Free Watch Winder Settings Lookup

Find documented turns per day and rotation direction for your watch’s calibre, with manufacturer sources and the conditions that matter when setting a winder.

Find the setting for your calibre

18 selected entries from Bremont, NOMOS and Oris. Use the movement code in your documentation, not the serial number.

Keep the full suffix. If you do not know the calibre, check the manual or manufacturer first.

Your result will show the source, its scope and any required schedule. Lookups run in your browser; entered codes are not included in tool-use analytics.

Start with the exact movement

A watch family can use different movements across models and production years. Find the calibre in the manual, purchase documentation or manufacturer’s reference page. A serial number identifies an individual watch; it is not a substitute for a calibre code.

Enter the complete code, including its suffix. Partial matches ask you to choose an entry; an unsupported code produces no recommendation. Do not open the case just to use this lookup.

Read turns per day and direction together

TPD means turns per day. The number alone is not a complete setting: the winding direction and any active/rest schedule also matter. A direction describing crown winding is not an instruction for the rotation of a watch winder.

Bremont’s reference defines direction from the dial side. Oris’s cited article does not state a viewing side, so its result explicitly asks you to confirm the winder’s convention. Follow the controls and counting method in your winder manual; do not automatically double an alternating-direction setting.

Maintaining reserve differs from restarting a watch

The selected Bremont figures maintain an already wound watch. The Oris entries include a specific daily cycle. Neither should be read as a universal method to fully wind a stopped watch. Follow the exact watch manual for starting it and the winder manual for mounting it.

If a supported setting does not maintain the watch, verify the movement, mounting and programming with the manufacturer or a watchmaker. Increasing the number without checking those details can hide the cause.

A small catalog with visible sources

This first version includes 18 selected entries from three watch manufacturers, including two hand-wound entries that correctly return no automatic-winder setting. Every result links to its source and shows the review date. Manufacturer-wide guidance is labeled separately from calibre-specific instructions.

The catalog contains independently transcribed specifications and original explanatory text. It does not import a commercial watch-winder database. No setting is inferred for an unlisted brand, a different movement or a visually similar watch. Current instructions for your exact watch take precedence.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find the right watch winder setting?

Confirm the watch’s full calibre code, select its brand, and look up the code. Read the number, direction, source scope and schedule together. If the calibre is absent, ask the manufacturer rather than using a similar watch’s result.

Is 650 TPD suitable for every automatic watch?

No. The lookup keeps the selected manufacturer recommendations separate. A number shown for a supported entry is not a default for an unknown calibre.

What do clockwise and counter-clockwise mean?

They describe the direction of rotation, but the viewing side matters. Read the source’s viewpoint and your winder’s instructions. The lookup calls out sources that do not define the viewing side.

Can an automatic watch winder wind a hand-wound watch?

A conventional rotating winder cannot replace turning the crown of a hand-wound movement. Supported manual entries return no TPD recommendation. Use that watch’s hand-winding instructions instead.

Why is my watch missing?

This is a selected manufacturer-sourced catalog, not a universal database. Model names and serial numbers are not converted into guessed movement matches. Confirm the exact calibre with the manufacturer when it is not listed.

Are my watch details uploaded?

The lookup runs in your browser. Its engagement events record starting, completing and resetting the tool without including the calibre you entered.
